Subject was a second part in a series of performances called Self-Disposition. In this case the performance was very much about exploring the ’self’. This is translated by obstructing the body. The person is suspended to the ceiling and attached to a variety of strings that run to pulleys, also attached to the ceiling. At the bottom of these strings are weights. Because of this mechanism, force is put upon the strings and are amplified by guitar pick ups and movement becomes audible thus becoming a reference for the performer to move in a way that makes a composition. In this research the performer explores his possibilities in a forced position. This piece was done in collaberation with Alwin De Rooij.
